Snorkeling Around St Barts
St Barts shores are excellent for snorkeling and it is a popular activity on the island. There are a few shops that rent snorkeling gear and you can head out on your own, or you can schedule full, or half-day off-shore snorkeling trip with one of the islands tour operations.
Sea turtles, rays, eels, tarpon fish, and baby nurse sharks are common sights in the waters surrounding St Barts.
Some of the best places to snorkel on St Barts (SBH)
A great place to see sea turtles.
About a 15 minutes hike from Flamands. Snorkel to the far right (when you are facing the ocean).
Petit de Anse
Just past Flamands. There are stone steps leading to the water. A good place for turtles and parrotfish.
A dive boat destination – the best snorkeling on SBH is actually not on the island – take a half day boat trip with one of the island’s dive companies to an underwater nature preserve to experience the best snorkeling.
You can rent gear at Hookipa Surf Shop if you didn’t bring your own.
