Let’s do it!I loved CCR! You might have to offer night passes to CEC with playlist selected by the host!
Sorry . . . I’m stuck in the past!Pool party at Dennis’!
Though I might prefer something a bit more up to date like Black Keys.
Just for the record, Marie Galante is not the same island as Les Saintes.. they are both outlying islands of Guadeloupe along with La Désirade...Terre de Haut? Marie Galante? Do tell.
I'm in...that music is right up my alley !Let’s do it!
A number of years back I stayed for a week at Les Petit Saints in Terre de Haut and it was magical. It has changed owners since and there are couple of negative reviews but I still think it would be worth a try. One night at dinner I saw an American looking gentleman eating by himself and he ended up dining with us. He was a writer for Condé Nast and he was doing a piece on the FWI. His next stop was going to be St Barts so I gave him an itinerary of things he should check out. When the article came out the section on SBH started out saying “St Barts is a supremely topless Island. Topless cars, topless women, topless bank accounts.” I think he nailed it.I was in Terre de Haut in January while on SeaDream. Loved the little town and my fresh fish Créole lunch on the water. Tourmente d’Amour tartes a must! Divine coconut tartes bought from a lady in a house who made them herself! The photos work if you click on them..I am not too technical![]()
I’ve enjoyed Tropical a number of times. Definitely beautiful gardens for dining (with very good food), and a nice view from the small pool area (though, I’m not sure how available it is to people who are not Hotel guests). “Easily accessible” . . . not so sure about that. Walking there, unless one is staying quite nearby, is strenuous (at least) for some on this Forum . . . and the Hotel only has valet parking, which can be slowTropical up the road from Nikki also has a nice pool, from our understanding easily accessible .
For the CCR fans John Fogarty is on tour this summer. He acquired the rights to his music a couple of years ago after a 50 year legal battle so he can play all the classics. For the people who want to get very nostalgic he will be playing in Bethel, NY at the site of the Woodstock Music Festival in case you missed him in 1969.I loved CCR! I wonder about this. Last year we took our "virgins" to Guanahani for the day. We did the spa, lunch, drinks at the bar, our lounges and used the pool until almost dinner time. This year we are just thinking of chaise lounges and lunch, no spa. I think last year it was $95/pp for the day pass but not sure. JoR please let me know what you find out as they would like to return while there the first week in June. TiAIt is possible that you could have the same privileges at Le Guanahani. Do call and check.
So no fee? Can you use a lounge too?amy is correct, I know that christopher, cheval blanc indeed allow you to swim if you eat there also. I have a pic of the le barthelemy pool which is my favoriteView attachment 72677
The musuem there is excellent. We spent 3 hrs there and could of stayed longer. The next day we went to see Zac Brown Band. The grass on the lawn was amazing! It was so soft and green we didn't want to step on it. The entire venue is top notch in our opinion. Downside is that lodging is scarce..at least it was in '14. We went with a very large group and stayed at a campground that had a pool. Everyone brought assigned food. We had a great time. For the CCR fans John Fogarty is on tour this summer. We like watching "Death in Paradise" in its various incarnations. I understand it's supposed to be set on an island called "St. Marie" which is Marie Gallant, but actually filmed in Guadeloupe.Just for the record, Marie Galante is not the same island as Les Saintes.. they are both outlying islands of Guadeloupe along with La Désirade...

Us too. The main filming is/was done in Deshaise, which is on Basse-Terre (the western half of the "butterfly". Sketched out a trip, but haven't gotten my wife interested enough. We like watching "Death in Paradise" in its various incarnations. Fortune has smiled on me - I'm almost afraid to report for fear of jinxing it - but I'm not experiencing negative reactions at the few places I swim which have been relatively sargassum free. So no pool reports to date.I wonder about this. Last year we took our "virgins" to Guanahani for the day. I can report that in 1969 there was a lot of available lodging in Bethel NY, especially on Max Yasgur's farm, as long as you didn't mind, say, a tent or a school bus or a big plastic bag around your sleeping bag...The musuem there is excellent.
