Pool Escapes?

…that and a jar of Skippy, loaf of Wonderbread, and some Boones Farm to wash it down and you are all set.
Boone's Farm!!! True story: At Woodstock, we'd arrived a few days early in a converted 44-passenger school bus and were directed over to what they thought would be an orderly distribution of attendees (tent campers over here, day trippers over there, RV-types over yonder...). It turned out that being in the RV-type area, a couple of hundred yards from the main stage area and through some woods, was the best thing that could have happened. We had a great refuge and could drop in and out of the ummmm..... craziness as we wished.

Anyway..... at the time of the 20th anniversary of Woodstock we returned. Not only did we find the place where we'd parked, but at the edge of the woods we found the remains of the campfire we'd used, together with maybe a half dozen of our empty Boone's Farm and Ripple bottles!

Great memory!

no pics?

Us too. The main filming is/was done in Deshaise, which is on Basse-Terre (the western half of the "butterfly". Sketched out a trip, but haven't gotten my wife interested enough.
I spent a week there with my wife and son in April of 2016. It was nice enough but not worth a return trip. The restaurants were pretty basic and certainly nothing that would qualify as fine dining. The highlight of the trip was an encounter we had with a sea turtle. My wife and I were standing in waist deep water pretty much right in front of the beach cottage where they film the show. All of a sudden an enormous dark shadow appeared right in front of us moving from our right to left. It was on us so fast we didn’t even have time to react. When it passed me it made a hard turn towards the shore. As it got closer to shore it became clear that it was a huge leatherback turtle. She hauled herself onto the beach and when she got about half way to the woods she started digging a nest. We didn’t want to disturb her so we called our son over and headed over to the cottage to watch from a distance. I did manage snap a few quick pics as we were leaving her to take care of her business. We had become friendly with a member of the crew who was in charge of getting the cottage ready for filming which was scheduled for the following week. The next day I told the caretaker about the nest, which was maybe 50 feet in front of the cottage, and It was obvious he didn’t share our enthusiasm about our wildlife encounter. After thinking about what I had just told him he said in his lovely British accent “I going to pretend I didn’t hear that” and walked away.
