nice!..classic summer meal in the northeast

lots of tuna and oysters this weekend...oddly enough with all the striped bass caught this weekend I somehow didn't get any!

The summer is young. We spent time last weekend at Scripps, and learned a lot about their tuna tracking. Fascinating. And many thanks to Ms. TiPunch for her hotel recommendations!

An amazing place, remarkable research, and a spectacular campus wide open to the public in general and surfers in particular. I tried. I fell, fell, fell... Never having swum in the Pacific before, I tried until washing ashore in a heap in La Jolla Cove. Very salty!

my surfing days are very much in my rear view mirror....LOL...loved it when I did it though.....used to surf Long Nook Beach in Truro a lot..

did you see all those seals on the beach in la Jolla?

Made a great Gazpacho yesterday as a first course.

Then grilled some strip steaks that had marinated in EVOO, lemon juice, rosemary and cracked black pepper.

Served sliced with a mound of arugula lightly dressed with EVOO and lemon juice.

Just perfect!
