what are you eating??

Tonight we roasted a small Bell and Evans chicken. We baked a sweet potato to share, and spinach with garlic, lemon and olive oil. It was delicious, if I say so myself. Even better - there is a beautiful moon visible in the clear skies of New England! Enjoy.

Veal chops on the new Christmas grill, what with it being fifty degrees, or so. Quinoa with lemon and parsley. we have been getting wonderful Meyer lemons at Stop and Shop lately.

nice!

leftover Beef Bourguignon and a home made mushroom pizza....and homemade Tabouli...

and yes..I know....weird combination

All good. I find little about food weird. We have been talking about pizza all day. Almost picked up a white clam pie in New Haven today. Might have made an error.

Totally agree about the weird thing :) I had Peruvian chicken and all the trimmings.......and pizza catered in for a couple of big days at work. Everybody loved it all and said nothing negative about the combo.......

just finished making my boneless version of coq au vin. it's simmering now and the house smells yummy.

Inhaling red wine like an oxygen mask so i don't have to buy Lynn and Jeanette a $500 lunch at Tom Beach

Tonight called for onion soup. It also called for a walk and a bunch of phone calls. So, a big beautiful sweet onion was diced into very small pieces and melted into a little bit of butter and olive oil and covered with chicken broth. This barely bubbled as I finished my work. By the time I was ready to walk, there wasn't a speck of onion to be stirred, The broth was smooth and rich. Post walk, my soup got the full treatment - crouton, cheese... It was, I immodestly report, delicious.

You know, I haven't used beef stock for years, so hard to say. But the onions, butter and chicken stock came together very nicely.
