Low season article

The whole description of Lorient Beach is off! We have been staying there for 30+ years so I think we know it well--sans beach clubs and restaurants!

I don't know, maybe it's some OTHER Lorient beach (OK, I'll drop the apostrophe!). For us, Lorient has always been 1) a quiet beach with generally tiny waves; 2) a place to go where almost everyone there is local; 3) a beach with no stuffiness or glitz and glam; 4) a beach where, for much of the day, my wife (and her very Irish skin) can find a spot to relax in the shade of a tree; a place where I can gaze into the vastness of the ocean and have little fishing boats and such (and no megayachts) as part of my environment. Has it changed?

Thankfully, Lorient has not changed.
Other than sands sometimes shifting with the tides, it is still local, quiet and beautiful.

Here today as I type and can confirm - has not changed. Sargassum only down at far end to the left/west

100% the Low Season Article which mentions L'Orient is referring to St. Martin and not SBH. Maybe this was AI generated.

We are back and staying on #TheRealLorient Beach in late May for 10 days. Visit #70 to the island since 1995.

Thank you for posting this article. We're long time SBH visitors, new to the forum. We typically stay in Lorient for the reasons mentioned by all of you. We are planning a July trip after a few years gap. Since we have only been on the island in late April-June months, I suspect some favorite restaurants may not be open. Fingers crossed the lovely Lorient bakery is still there. Any other tips or things to consider in July are much appreciated!
