Best patisserie on the island?

1. We were inspired by this thread. We departed our villa in Lurin. We stopped at Choisy in town, proceeded to Petite Colombe, stopped in at Eden to Go before finally reaching Chokola Vany. Croissant finalists were Eden to Go and Chokola Vany. Chokola Vany was our unanimous winner.

2. The icing on the cake was the raspberry filled croissant and the savory, beef filled croissant.

3. Now, if some of you could offer suggestions of where to get a properly pulled espresso that doesn’t come from a push button machine, I would risk tachycardia to share my findings.
1. Confirms my findings. Thrilled to know CV makes viennoiseries. And they’re right down the hill from Vitet !
2. Savory filled croissants are difficult to find on SBH !
3. The only really noteworthy (or even decent) espresso coffee I recall on SBH was Manapany. And that’s been a while back. Owner and/or manager was Italian.
The French struggle with coffee

Chokola Vany’s front man is a hoot, a real sweetheart. The icing on the cake was the raspberry filled croissant and the savory, beef filled croissant.
Glad you found it, Malik's smile is a nice way to start the day. We remember him from Le Toiny where he was just as welcoming and friendly. As mentioned, they sell select pastries and ice creams at the Super U and U express, not certain about other outlets, though a trip to the bakery is well worth the drive.

At Le Guanahani, I start my day (after work out, of course!) with a double espresso followed by an adorable press pot coffee (Bialetti small size), made with Saint-Barth Coffee Roasters coffee...I don't even have to ask after the first day. Nothing like sitting with a beautiful press pot of coffee, staring out at Grand Cul de Sac...after 20 years, it never gets old! Dolce and Gabbana are making the cutest press pots now.. https://www.dolcegabbana.com/en-us/...ceandgabbana-multicolor-TCCE26TCAFEUC034.html

From ChokolaVany
Un pain à Nutella, une feuilletée aux lambis, un pastel de nata.
Very nice. Certainly no better than ER to Go. But better than Choisy and PC. IMHO.
Thrilled to find the feuilletée aux lambis. Almost made me break out the leftover Égly-Ouriet GC Extra Brut. But it’s only 8h30

Chokola Vany is the best!! A little hard to spot at first and park to the side… and it’s in the “back” ~ my husband loves pastry and also to compare tatoos with the dad as they would always see each other at Alma! Love to support them although it makes the Sunday run a bit longer! Here are a few photos for those who might miss it driving by….hope the photos load! I’m not too good at posting!

Choisy in Lorient is my go to-the bakery is awesome and the ease of parking makes it an added bonus!!

Only problem with Choisy in Lorient if you eat at the tables, are the mosquitoes. Carry out is fine.
