Best patisserie on the island?

Eden to go by the airport or Eden rock to go at the hotel?

Le Daily posted on Instagram that they were closing for renovations for a few months and re-opening in October. Their website is still active: www.ateliersaintbarth.fr/le-daily
Tragic! I liked Le Roof Top a lot when operated by Robuchon (Ita was a disaster, IMO). Main dining room (i.e., 1st floor) was beautiful, but the “counter“ wasn’t conducive to conversation of more than two people in a group. Pastries, etc., in the “tea room” were memorably great! Holder of the lease — i.e., the tenant — now is seeking, I understand, a high end operator for the venue, with interest from a highly credible Monaco group. Sounds like there’s some chance of a Festive Season re-opening occurrimg.

This thread is slightly misleading--no mention of island bakeries?
If one is looking for morning pastries--croissants, pain au chocolate, baguette--or other pastry, even sandwiches, quiche etc--while Eden TG has great offerings for all day take out or dine in, I wouldn't drive there, depending upon your villa location, when it's likely more convenient to run to one of two Choisy (Gustavia or Lorient) or two Petite Colombe (Colombier--next to Les Bananiers, or Lorient) or two other bakeries- Carambole (in Gustavia) or, if on the eastern end of island, Chokola Vany. Yes, Robuchon tea room had beautiful offerings but it sounds like it is in transition. Our go-tos are any of the above depending upon where on island we are staying. We find parking at Lorient Choisy is often easiest.

You’ll have to try the Choisy/Petite Colombe/Carambole offerings (they’re all on same level) and try ERtoGo and Le Daily (if open) and judge for yourself.
Many here are happy with the more popular and more modestly priced Choisy/PC/Carambole viennoiseries.
I find the others on a much higher level.

Thanks Dad, and you have experience! There is not, in my opinion, quite such a hierarchy--we're not talking Parisian patisseries here. Yes, technically there is patisserie (choux pastries, mille feuille, macarons, etc) and viennoiserie (croissant, pain au chocolat, pain aux raisins, etc) she asked about picking up the latter in the mornings though all places mentioned have both. While I agree Eden TG is excellent (and pricey) again, I would not drive there every morning for breakfast offerings when there are very good bakeries closer to home. Robuchon was also excellent and very high end (stunning pastries) but wouldn't make a trip into town unless I was looking for something special. I will add another shout out to Chokola Vany if one is out toward Toiny as it is newer and (as mentioned in a previous post) run by a very nice and talented local couple. The baker Mathilde used to bake for Orega I believe, she also made a beautiful birthday cake for a friend a couple of years ago. It's small but excellent.

We always have breakfast (viennoiseries/quiche/etc) couple times a trip at Choisy in town. At one of their tiny tables on trottoir. With doubles cafés and pot de lait chaud à part.
It’s fun to watch town folks come in for their croissants or baguettes. Or catch a yacht boy fetching sacks full for the owner and his/her guests.

Chokola Vany has wonderful things but I like pain au chocolate and theirs have Nutella, which I don't eat, so Eden To Go is the best IMHO...they also have sandwiches and lots of take out items, yes more expensive, but very good, It's a very popular place and all the chairs outside are often full.
On the other hand, Chokola Vany makes great Bouche de Noel for anyone here over the holiday season, among their other good desserts, and their own ice cream and sorbet...
