I have been a huge fan of author Ann Patchett since she came on the scene with BEL CANTO in 2001.
This latest book, WHISTLER, is now my favorite by her. This is the story of a young girl of nine years of age and her step father, her mother’s second husband. The marriage ends, yet she adored him and he knew she was head and shoulders among the children he knew. They bump into each other at the Met in NYC, and reunite to recount their lives of the 44 year’s of events that passed as well as the incident that caused her parents’ divorce.
What tender moments and interesting journeys they all have shared to arrive at the end of this beautifully written family history. Ann Patchett is a national treasure. Go get this book.
