Do ya'll know you can get some good deals on Le Creuset cookware in TJ Maxx and Marshall's? I use them all the time for roasting veggies and other dishes. The color selection is not great, but they are c-h-e-a-p!

Well, it appears the Manhattan is a taste I will not acquire anytime soon. My friend the bartender at PJ Clarke's made one for me tonight. When he asked me how it was, I told him it might be delicious in a month or so. We decided to move on to something else.

I had one last night at Off The Record -- perfect! They must be made with Rye -- 2 Oz. and then 1/2 ounce of sweet and dry vermouth. A dash or two of bitters and there you are a dry and perfect Manhattan.

Had wonderful French toast as requested by our sleep over guest-David who is 8.

Roast chicken in the oven. Lisa is making a green bean casserole. Earlier, I made fresh cranberry sauce. And Lisa, who is starting to think she's the cook of the house, made a duet of parfaits: Key Lime and Chocolate mouse.

took some organic fresh chicken breasts...pounded them thin....salt and pepper and lemon juice all over them....let em sit for an hour or so...laid down some thin Parma proscuitto over em...some roasted reds...some ricotta..some fresh mozz....some fresh wilted spinach..some finely chopped walnuts...rolled it all up....tied it tight....rolled it in chestnut flour...seared it in olive oil in a hot cast iron pan.....finished it it the oven...made up a quickie marsala/cream sauce to go over the top of them...

butternut squash risotto and a salad and some garlic bread

no leftovers

I love macaroons but I wanted Christmas Butter cookies.....when I told her that...I got the "dont f**k with me" look....so next week I get my Christmas cookies.....LOL
