THE ART THIEF by Michael Frankel

I was supposed to read this true and fascinating book at the airports, but the trip did not happen and so I read it today.

An amazing account about the most successful narcissistic and brazen stealing of art treasure since the Nazis pillaged the world. I remember when the newspapers carried the story of finding this stolen trove of museum quality Renaissance art after the thief's mother tried to discard it. Shocking how it all happened.

Lovers of art and history and collectors of art and all curators should read this and learn how to protect the treasures they are in charge of keeping safe for ALL mankind to enjoy, not just one selfish highly skilled thief!
