Rat A Tuer
Jim,
Thank goodness you came on line; I was beginning to think you'd deserted us. Also, you've inspired me not just to whine about the problem but to propose a positive solution.
I would be happy to contribute to a fund that would pay a bounty on every dead rat delivered to the collection point, and I think others would be as well. Just think what a great activity this would be for the island's teenagers, and they could definitely benefit from something positive to do now that Omar destroyed the basketball court. The biggest problem might be finding some organization or business to serve as the collection point for all the rat carcasses. I think we should look for a group with the following traits:
1. Central location with easy access, maybe some place near the airport.
2. An organization that has demonstrated its civic mindedness and willingness to get involved for the good of the island.
3. An organization with ties to tourism that could relate to the economic benefits of rat reduction.
Mon ami, can you think of such a group that we might contact to determine their interest? In America-speak, this would be called a win, win, win proposition. BTW, my French is probably incorrect, but how do you like the proposed name?
Also, to proceed to something on a lighter note, can you please respond to GEOGONZ's post about the drug bust. I know what I've heard, but I'd like another source to address it.
