WEATHER / TAMMY HURRICANE ] - NO PASSAGE ENVISAGED IN PURPLE LEVEL VIGILANCE

In the current state of the situation described by the Météo-France services, the prefect decides to maintain the "Red cyclone" vigilance level for the islands of Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin and not to consider the transition to violet level cyclone vigilance.

At 6:02 p.m., the phenomenon was positioned 223 km from Saint-Martin and 188 km from Saint-Barthélemy to the east. It was moving at 17 km/h. Given its size and the evolution of its travel speed, the forecasts of the peak are advanced at 2:00 a.m. this

Sunday.

The threat level has been lowered to Orange. Both the SXM and SBH airports are open but commercial flights to SBH won’t restart until tomorrow. Ferries may resume service this afternoon.

No hurricane here, but it has been raining steadily since yesterday, big lightning and thunder storm last night, quite a lively and loud display of the forces of nature.. still raining and very soggy today...
