Low Season?

My question is regarding the month of June in St. Barths. It appears that my family has made a decision to take a much needed vacation back to St. Barths for early/ mid June. We are staying at a house in Pointe Milou overlooking the ocean (beautiful) and I am quite excited. There is a total of 9 of us coming, which includes two of my friends from college and a friend for my 18 year old brother to bring along. As a family we have traveled to St. Barths many times before, but haven't been back in about 6-7 years.
So my question is really about the nightlife during the low season. I am aware from past experiences that many restaurants could be closed during this time of year, but I am just hoping that us younger people will still be able to have a good time if we ventured out at night. I am specifically wondering if Le Ti St. Barths is still open because as a kid (14) I had probably one of the more interesting nights of my life there..ha.

I have also been looking around for any information online about the closings of restaurants or bars..anywhere I can look?

Re: Low Season?

We were just at Le Ti last month for the first time, so I don't know if it will be as it was when you were there before, but it is open. We found the food to be fantastic. I think it opens at 7:30 for dinner.

I have boys 8 and 10, so I can't help with nightlife info.

Try this link for restaurants-
restos

You will get many hits on your post- a lot of our posters go in June.

Re: Low Season?

There will be more information on restaurant closings as June approaches. Some years there is a list, other years it is word-of-mouth.

At this point, Wall House can be expected to close on the first Saturday in June and reopen in late October or early November. Pipiri Palace is expected to close for half of May, but I can't remember which half.

Don't forget to check the rules on rental cars, as some companies may require authorised drivers to be 25+. Better to check in advance.

Re: Low Season?

other then the Wall House...I cant think of anyone else closed in June....and this will be my 8th consecutive June on the island....as far as night life goes ...it wont be anything like it is in high season, for obvious reasons ( a plus for us )...there is a nice jazz festival usually on Fathers Day weekend...Select usually has a band on Satruday night.....but speaking as a retired night owl, I dont pay much attention to the comings and goings at night anymore except to tell you I dont get the impression much is going on...maybe someone else can comment ..there are quite a few regular June visitors on this board.....just dont expect it to be too crazy....June is for the local business people to catch their collective breaths and the typical June visitor isn't looking for that sort of thing as well, so that combination creates an environment which, for the most part, is pretty quiet and laid back

Re: Low Season?

The Francios Plantation resto as well as Sapotillier have been closed in June in the past, but with both places under new ownership/management, it may be different this year. Christopher is to close before June. Le Ti has always been a part of our resto list, and there has been a recent post that showed a flyer that listed Le Ti "events" for certain nights of the week. Try a search to find that post.

As for nightlife, it seems like BAZ Bar and The Strand are places for late-night hijinks. There is also a new establishment where Feeling was in Lurin.

Re: Low Season?

As for nightlife, it seems like BAZ Bar . . .

Last year BAZ was closed for the summer and I think he is planning on doing the same this year.

Re: Low Season?

What? No sushi at the BAZ this June? I guess Mandala will get our euros this time- LOL. I just saw that the Francois Plantation resto actually closes on April 15 this year. Oh well, no over-the-top visit there this June.

Re: Low Season?

Wendi and I were in Gustavia one evening and ran into eddie who was on his way to Sap which was opened....

yeah Baz is closed...I forgot that one

Re: Low Season?

Yes, Sap was open last summer. I hope it's open again this summer.
The kids might also check out Club Nikki. I was there, during "Fashion Week" last June. It was wall-to-wall models (if you like that sort of thing).... :-}

Re: Low Season?

Eddie,

There is a club up in the hights between Sante Fe and the top of the hill that drops down into Grand Fond. Whats the name of that one?

Gregg

Re: Low Season?

I think you're referring to what used to be called Feelings. The name had changed when we were there in February, but I can't remember the new name.

Re: Low Season?

I believe your right. We dropped in there one night after diner at Sante Fe and it was dead. Matbe we were too early at 10pm

Re: Low Season?

You may be right about being there too early. I'm an old fart so have never been, but have heard it is a really late-night venue with the fun beginning after midnight and ending as the sun rises.

Re: Low Season?

Great information, everyone. We, too, will be traveling there mid-June and I was curious as to what was going to be open. Looks like the Wall house is off the agenda. Keep the info. coming.............

Re: Low Season?

For the original poster, I can confirm that Le Ti was open last year in the middle of June. We ate there on "Arabian Nights" theme night around the 14th....

BTW, we'll be there early to mid June this year and between us and some friends, we'll have 6 young adults, ages 18-27, with us...
