Making My Own Reservations

There are plenty of other places that do not require this. Just sayin'...

And there are plenty of places that we frequent at home (DMV) that require it. I'm happy to give my cc to gain access. The times they are a changin'!

This is what I do... the only place I consistently did not get a response over the years was Shellona, but then I realized I didn't really like going there anyway - so, it worked out for both of us! :laughing-cry:

same here! Last year I Emailed, texted, face book messaged, IG messaged and finally had to call for a reservation there! Very disappointed in our lunch after all that. Won’t be going back this year!

Shellona may not respond to those requests since they provide a feature to make reservations directly on their website. You get verification immediately.

I noticed that Sand Bar, Bonito and a few other restaurants all have an OpenTable like feature to to see real-time availability and to make reservations. While confirming my reservation, Sand Bar asked for a credit card and indicated that I could be charged 500 euros if I didn't cancel 24 hours in advance.

I always call to make sure.

for on island we always use ATT's International Day Pass ($10/day + tax) for domestic plan data usage and local and international phone calls and texting, but for pre-departure calls I just saw ATT has a $15/month (can cancel after one month) US to International call plan. $0.00/minute to SBH with call plan. Versus $3.00/minute with pay-per-call.

I typically use e-mail with reasonable success...or call if I don't get a reply...for most anywhere but Shellona...which seems to often require that you know someone who knows someone, etc. Turns out that is how we got one for lunch for Saturday after next.

Can we use your name ("someone who knows someone")?

Here is something I didn't know about Le Tamarin. I had sent them an email:

Dear
Kindly note we do not take booking more than 3 weeks prior the night requested.
