It's Officially Hurricane Season 2025

I read that the beginning of the hurricane season was marked by Code Red in SBH and SXM for Air Quality due to the Saharan Dust wind.

. . . don’t know the warnings very well, so don’t know Code Red for current conditions. I’d say, however, that it seems normal for this time of year (including Sahara sands).

Is it named?
That was quick. it went from a disturbance to a named tropical storm in just a few hours.
Here is the NHC discussion of Erin:

Amy, could be heading your way, I'm afraid, but impossible to know at this point.

Thanks for the alert. Today I experienced an in house alert saying to abandon building. Workman’s tool set off smoke/fire warning. Of course told not to use elevator. We are on the 18th floor. Not fun…mid flight we learned all was well and the elevators were restored so we got back up. A challenge, but a happy ending. Better safe than sorry…the alarm did what it was supposed to do if smoke was detected. Fire department here in a flash…also good to see.

Difficult challenge, Amy . . . glad that you and Phil were relieved of going all the way to the ground!
