How Much Is That Cheeseburger Pommes Frites?

Kevin
Le Select lowered several of its prices last week.I can't recall if the simple cheeseburger and fries went down( we think it did),but a variety of menu items did.We aren't on island now ,so can't check it out

Nice job. Appreciate the work. My favorite is still the Old School at JoJo's. Bacon cheeseburger. Yum.

Thanks for your in-depth reporting Kev. I do love JoJos but I only have a burger maybe once while on island and that's for lunch ...too much other great stuff to try.

Just remember, Indigo has 3 kinds of fries. And proud to tell you! Plain, Truffle, and Frozen.

I wonder if quality of the beef and/or size makes a difference. If I go to JoJo one day (which I love) and have their burger (no egg) and go to Indigo another, is the quality the same, hence a partial reason for the price difference....just a thought

Thanks Kevin for the list.
See you in a few weeks

Carol....the one thing they all have in common is its all high fat, non organic, non grass fed crap - formed into a patty.....whether its at Select or Sand Bar.....:nightmare:

but we all still love them in spite of that......

Carol,

There are definitely differences. M&P's is Certified Angus Beef. Indigo's is a 200gr (7 oz) burger. Le Select's and Jojo Burger's burgers are neither Angus or 7 oz., and the ambiance at both places is a bit different than the ambiance at Indigo or Taïwana.

GASP!!..say it aint so....:D

unfortunately fat = flavor....and I ve had ( and made ) my share of bland 90% lean burgers...although I am getting a little better at making a 90% lean burger taste reasonably ok......nothing like a 70% lean char grilled ground chuck burger though....

i seem to remember that Lafayette had the most expensive burger on the island

I found that everything at Lafayette was the most expensive on the island, especially after they softened up my resistance with a goldfish bowl-sized Planteur. Years after it closed, it is still the holder of my personal record for my most expensive meal ever.

Been there, done that, but enjoyed every minute. The shock sets in when you get home and open the credit card bill. It's one of those "what the F**k was I thinking" moments.

I ve had those moments but they were related to a bar bill

On Thursday nights M&P has hamburger night. The place is packed with mostly local families sharing the burgers and frites. I have been tempted to try one, but the steak is so darn good and I am planning lamb chops for my next visit, so I don't know when I will get that chance.
