What a good WWII novel. Based on a real heroine. A journalist turned resistance fighter turned spy. It has intrigue, Nazis in France, especially PARIS, and a bunch of unforgettable heroes.

I found this author in December, FROZEN RIVER was the first of hers I read. She knows how to tell a story and I was hooked early.

I truly admire the heroine and the trust and faith she given by men and offices in England, France and Spain. She was brave and tough and a one of a kind dame.her

Get to know her, The White Mouse. Actually NANCY WAKE is her real name, a code name that she was called while fighting for democracy and giving it her all. A remarkable woman.

Ooooooohhhh!!! This sounds like a winner!

It truly is.Nancy Wake was Australian. She rose to every occasion and challenge. Her autobiography is THE WHITE MOUSE. I am contemplating reading her story of her war time efforts in her own words.

Helene forges papers, smuggles rescued allied airmen into Spain, rescues Jews, learns Mose code, hand to hand combat, and how to fire many weapons. Not bad for a brazen novice Australian wannabe journalist who publisher Hearst refuses to recognize.
