Certainly, also, Albert Balayn . . . La Gloriette & Cocoloba.A bit too soon but he and Fanny would be on that list as well.

Why too soon?A bit too soon but he and Fanny would be on that list as well.
Too true. Over the weekend, while discussing restaurants for the upcoming visit, my wife asked where Papillon Ivre was located and I said up the road from (Andy's) "Hideaway".The number of people who knew & still reference “Andy’s Hideaway” boggles the mind! Few people have legendarily left an imprint on the island!
Larger than life that Andy Hall. A perfect ambassador filled with good will and high spirit!

Sand Bar is still there and a lovely option for lunch !Amy and Dennis,
We are coming back for the first time since November 2017 after making trips every year or two from 2007 to 2017. We are coming in on Sunday for a week. Rented a villa as is usual since we are bringing our kids (now 16 and 14). Life has just been busy.
Been reading the forums and it seems like the island has changed a lot. We like sitting on the beach, admiring the scenery, and good meals. We don't mind maybe one afternoon at Nikki Beach and watching the planes come in with music playing, but we are not really into the Euro party influencer vibe. Hopefully the restaurants have not changed too much. We will do Eddys and Tamarin (though recent posts on Tamarin are giving me pause). Any others you would recco? Thinking to add Gran De Sel (sp?).
In the past we loved Le Gloriette, Wall House, Le Sapotillier, Eddys, Santa Fe (my favorite), Sand Bar (lunch), Andy's, Mayas, etc. I know all are now gone except for Eddys.
I am a little concerned about the change in the island. But I figure Colombier and Saline are the same, so we can get what we want. We like eating out for lunches more than dinner any way.
Thank you, Ellen. I am sure you don't remember, but you helped arrange family pictures for us back in July 2014 on our kids' first visit to the island. Rosemund (sp?) did a great job. My wife Chandra connected with you on that. Thanks again!Sand Bar is still there and a lovely option for lunch !

So true, Amy . . . unforgettable! Adam & his wife, Nicole, were the essence of civility & elegance — “Old World“, European-school refinement. And not to be forgotten . . . with a similar style & manner, Emanuel (a/k/a “Manu”j, later renowned at Santa Fe Restaurant, was Sapotillier’s sommelier in this period. And after seeing poster jbonine comment, add ADAM @ Sapotillier
I died a little on the inside when Sante Fe closed. It, Andy's and Le Gloriette were my two favorites. Hoping to find some new favorites on this trip. A little nervous about restaurants from reading the message board. So true, Amy . . . unforgettable!
