Beach chairs at ER?

we're villa pool/view people too
no thump thump thump
no sucker boards
no blowing sand
no sargassum
no tip solicitations

So are we but we are going to be with our 5.5year old and unfortunately our villa doesn’t have a giant sandbox!

We love the beach/pool/lagoon of Le barthelemy but the water in st Jean is also very clear/sometimes calm. Thank you all for all the recommendations!

hmm abbreviations....the new texting rule? I live here but do not know what some of the abbreviations are.... I understand if you have a phone, makes it easier to text.....but a computer, just spell out the words.... even after reading this thread...I still don't know what or where ltcb is.

it would be refreshing if we would all write grande cul de sac.....not gcds......petite cul de sac....not pcds.......

that being said.....a few months ago I had a massage plus lunch at christopher hotel and was able to use the pool and chairs at no charge.. no special on the lunch or the massage. best massage on the island "by the way."...no abbreviations here...lol

PCDS always sounds like an intestinal disorder to me.

We enjoy a combination: villa pool, beach swims (usually early morning) and an occasional transat rental or day pass. All depends on who is with us, where we’re staying and time of year—re: sargassum and how crowded island may or may not be.
We generally do not frequent places with “sucker boards” or “ thump thump” and, while I hate to be the bearer of unfortunate news, tip solicitations exist more and more (and more) even in favored venues. People can deny all they want but it’s the new reality. We don‘t mind bc we always tip in cash so it’s easy to decline on machines.

Maybe it’s the NY’er in me but I always leave a generous tip… in cash. I want the staff to remember me, in a good way, so I can get a good table when I want one. Slipping a maitre d’ a C note on a consistent basis does wonders when trying to get into a popular place on a busy night. When they solicit a tip it’s the perfect opportunity to cultivate a good relationship with the people who can make or break a nice dining experience.

It’s a term used by some on forum referring to blackboards featuring outrageously priced specials—often at beach clubs and some higher-priced restaurants. Not a term I generally use, was referring to a previous post!
