Beach chairs at ER?

D'accord! I recently checked with a friend who is a Manager at ER about getting a reservation for visiting friends who expressed an interest in spending an afternoon there, with lunch, and was told that there aren't enough loungers for guests, so they don't accept outside reservations.

Per the hotel website, the replacement for Shellona will be Loulou. I don’t know what the menu will be. Opening in November.

this is low season......every room at er not occupied at the moment, so most likely you could get a chair if you show up early and really want one.
most people who are in those chairs are quite young and a little rowdy if you have ever watched from the dining room at lunch time. why anyone would want to sit in those chairs is a puzzle to me. its hot.,,,,really hot, and sometimes windy with sand in your food out on the beach.

I was recently inquiring about day passes at a few places as I have friends coming in next week - - loungers at cheval blanc are 100€ each, with our without lunch. They have a day pass with two course lunch, lounger, and massage for 280€. (They mention the lounger is a pool lounger, not a beach lounger, so not sure what the actual policy is there. ) Christopher has the best deal on the island for a lounger, welcome cocktail and two-course lunch for 95€. Barthélemy has a lounger, lunch and a massage day pass too, but I can't remember how much it is. Gypsea Beach club offers loungers for 80€, with or without lunch. I know you can get loungers at Pearl Beach as well, don't remember pricing. Tropical has a lunch, massage and double-bed pool lounger special for 170€, or 150€ for a double lounger for the day, sans anything else. (That pricing makes no sense to me, but that's what it said!)
I have also heard that ER is pretty stingy with their loungers and they are really not available if you are not staying at the hotel.

We have in the past but preference is given to their hotel and villa guests first. Depending on the day you should be able to walk up especially with lunch plans.

Le Barthelemy day pass is 195 euro pp with choice of massage or facial, 2 course lunch, lounger and all day use of the spa. I have done it a few times and it is a beautiful way to spend a day. Our daughter and bf just did it on Friday—the beach view is gorgeous, they walked/swam to the sand bar and saw turtles and the pool there is lovely.
I agree about Hotel C! We did their pass last weekend and it’s great—also a gorgeous pool and view. It’s a favorite lunch spot for us so the day pass was perfect, thank you for the recommendation!
Re: ER there are more chairs there than ever but doesn’t seem like the hotel is very full? We had drinks last week and were there for breakfast buffet this morning (more on that later) and it was not too busy. I’ve walked by most mornings early and seen workers setting up maybe half the chairs for the day and there are now 100+. I am sure it varies day to day. Perhaps worth an ask but wouldn’t be surprised if they decline.
I’ll be very interested to read your comments about this morning’s ER breakfast. I’ve tried to go there at least 2x — its buffet has been highly recommended — but was refused each time because I arrived after they cut-off service to non-guests (I think it was 9:30). Gratefully, Pearl Beach serves an excellent breakfast (buffet & menu options available) ‘til 11 . . . so I didn’t go hungry!

Dennis, I just looked back at the email I received last month when inquiring about the ER breakfast buffet. Our daughter had to leave late morning today so instead of a Father’s Day lunch we did breakfast. A concierge friend has been tellling me for years ER has the very best breakfast on the island. We never go out to breakfast here so this was the perfect opportunity to try it. It is incredible and the service lovely. The closest I have seen to such an extensive breakfast buffet was many years ago at the Park Hyatt Paris and this surpasses. Extensive choice of beautiful pastries, juices, coffee, yogurts—so many topping choices I lost count, house macerated fruits, fresh fruits, cheeses, meats and a large a la carte menu to order from in addition. I had a very good avodado toast topped with a poached egg, others ordered eggs over easy and eggs benedict with sides of bacon. The a la carte menu is extensive—omlettes, french toast etc. All for 75 euro pp. highly recommend.

Thanks for this report . . . Sounds fabulous! I'm still thinking about avocado toast topped with poached egg!! Yum yum!

We did just transats/chairs at both Le Barthelemy and Le Toiny. I think Le Barth was 60e and LTBC 50e. But that was just for chair per person.

LTBC is not to be missed! We loved our day down there. I really like GcdS and Le Barth as well, but our day there this year was a bit marred by somewhat poor beach conditions and a very loud and very un-self aware (unself-aware?) American couple, so this time it's LTBC because the setting and lunch are really something. We both said that it will make our permanent rotation.
