Winair question

Seems like this happened to us last year. We are booked to arrive SXM November 24 at 3:25. We booked Winair flight for 5:10 , paid & got confirmation. Just other day Winair contacts us & says our flight is now for 4:00. Rather tight I’d say. We looked at their site & there is room on the 4:55. Are they locking us into this to charge us more$? Last year we had to pay more to switch. Not sure if this is what they do to make more $$

I doubt they intentionally would do this just for profit. But if you fly thru SXM and had a bad experience with them last year, why didn't you try to fly on SBC (St Barth Commuter). They are much less strict (free changes if there are seats), much cheaper and generally more friendly.

If I would be you, I would check whether SBC has seats on 17:00 flight and if yes, I would immediately call Winair and ask to cancel at least this leg and full refund as their change is not acceptable due the connecting flight.

SBC is less expensive and more dependable but do not offer as many flights per day. Besides isn't SBC owned by the leader of SBH while Win Air has been thru bankruptcy and is owned by the Dutch government?

Thanks for all the input. WinAir changed our flight to the island for no charge. We will check out SBC next trip.
