WinAir layover time and VIP service?

We were there a couple of weeks ago. SXM had us fill out a form online before our trip began, and then we never heard anything else about it upon arrival at SXM.

We fly SBC and therefore don't need VIP services heading into SBH, but we always use Vincent on the trip home. His people at SXM whisk you through all of the immigration and customs lines, collect your baggage and assist with check-in (Delta for us), and then escort us through security. Well worth it!

Question: if your inbound flight to SXM is late, but SBC manages to get you on a short-connection flight, but your checked bags don't make it onboard, does SBC deliver your bags to your villa or hotel in SBH ?

SBC always grabs the bags and we never touch them until we arrive at SBH. I would guess that they make sure that they are available for transfer before they allow us to take the earlier flight (as we did this trip).

I just reviewed this post because we are transferring at SXM from an AA flight to Winair with carry on only. We have always used Tradewind, but circumstances do not alloW.

I thought customs and immigration were bypassed for intransit passengers. Is this incorrect? I am happy to pay to skip the line, but is it necessary?

I think the answer is that when the bags make it to SBH, SBC will call you to let you know that they are available for pick-up at the airport.

Sounds likely.
Whereas PIV showed up with our missed bags at the villa in Vitet just a short while after we had settled in. A well spent 300€ all services considered.

Thank you everyone for your help. We will have 2 checked bags

SBC has 1 pilot!? I don’t know how I feel about that either!

sb commuter very good airline. however one pilot is a real safetly issue. Not sure why they don't hire two pilots. they could raise the price, but safety should always come first with any airline.

ask yourself this question, if the pilot becomes disabled ( heart attack, etc) mid flight from sxm to sbh, what would you do.?

if you don't have a plan b for any situation in life, its never a good idea. I have taken many flight lessons with small planes in the usa, I did not finish the entire course to get my pilots license as I decided to pursue other interests at the time, but I would know how to land a small plane if I needed to....in sxm, should not be a problem for me. sbh however , not gonna be able to land there unless it was coming in from the seaside , that is why I only board a plane with 2 pilots.

Hello,

My wife and son and I are visiting early next year. Last time we flew with trade wind but this time we are routed through sxm. Is the standard 2 hours layover time in sxm enough or can it it 1.5hrs?

I went through the website but didn’t see how I can add the vip service as an add-on? Is this not done through WinAir?
Pros and cons of winair vs st Barth commuter?

Thank you
Please NEVER use the terms Winair and VIP service in the same sentence! Nothing could be further from reality!
