While I love my 2-Quart (Plus 1 Ounce) Rhum Vanille recipe, it may be time for a change. I've discovered that the closer we get to our next SBH trip the faster the Rhum flows.

I've also discovered that my current Rhum Vanille containers are a PITA. I jokingly asked Kate to find me a carboy with a tap on the side. She didn't find a carboy, but she did find some interesting jars/bottles/whatever, in an XL size, and with taps.

I'm looking at these, and wondering how well my 2 Quart recipe ramps up to 5 Gallons, what that would cost me in ingredients, and how long it would last.

The concept of having 5 gallons of Rhum Vanille in the house has a certain je ne sais quoi...

I am making the current batch in these jugs the local brewery pours off their beer in for retail sale...a wide mouth, a handle and a little less than a gallon....

the only thing is you have to drink the beer which comes with it first..a daunting task that I am usually up for....
