Slice the bodies down one side, rinse, pat dry.
Lay flat and slice into 1" strips.
Coat with canola oil.
Mix together:
•1/2 tsp. ground white pepper
•1/2 tsp. sea salt or regular salt
•1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
•1/4 to 1/2 tsp. chili flakes, to taste
•1 tsp. garlic powder
•1/2 tsp. onion powder or onion salt
Toss into squid. Wait 1 hour.
Grilled it on my Shrimp/Veggie grill thingy.
Tuna was soy-brown sugar marianted then pressed with crushed black peppercorns,

fill the buckets with squid...fire up the fry daddy....cut em into rings....batter em....drop em in the oil....
make up a spicy tomato dipping sauce
bon appetit.....the squid looked thick under the pier lights tonight when I was walking to my car but I was too tired to get them

Sperm whales go into Trinity Bay, where my grandparents on my mom's side lived in their later years. They (the grandparents) were in a town called Heart's Content, which was just a bit north of the towns of Heart's Delight and Heart's Desire. Love the Newfoundland town names!
The Gulf Stream and the Labrador Current make for prime feeding grounds. Lots of Humpback, Minke, and Fin whales too, as well as many other whale species. Good eats bring them in.

the same two currents collide here in ol Cape Cod bringing similar results......funny too because you can always tell in the constant push and pull of the currents, which one is winning and is here, because each current has and brings entirely different sea birds with it, and an entirely different smell to it too

More whale species visit Newfoundland than I remembered. "Every year, 22 species of whales and dolphins come to Newfoundland and Labrador for peace, quiet, and the odd photo opportunity. Whales can be seen from a grassy knoll on a fine day, from the veranda of a B&B or from a boat where you can view them up close in all their glory. Whatever you choose, you won't be disappointed. This is truly the best place in North America to appreciate whales.
You can see Beluga, Narwhal, Sperm Whale, Pygmy Sperm Whale, Blue Whale, Fin Whale, Sei Whale, Minke Whale, Humpback Whale, Bowhead Whale, Right Whale, Killer Whale, Northern Bottle-Nosed Whale, Sowerby's Beaked Whale, Blainville's Beaked Whale, True's Beaked Whale.
