what are you eating??

Rosemary..we took the afternoon trip off the books...we have some reservations for the morning trip but I will make the call on that tomorrow morning....probably just cancel the day and tinker around on the boat and stay in all day....I feel bad for the girls and K&K who are in town...but we got a lot of movies tonight from redbox - so we re good to go and dinner reservations at Front Street tomorrow night....

its all good and we need the rain....

LOL..No that was last night..Been a long time since I had a Good Humor Bar..I highly recommend you get one today..Toasted Almond over Vanilla..Cant beat it!

Mike, I think you will appreciate this. Jill and I had Moules Frites at a European restaurant here in Richmond last night. Better than any I have ever had in SBH. Whan I asked the chef where they got the mussels, he said Prince Edward Island. I have got to get Tim and Ricky to go there with us sometime soon.

It is chilly tonight so we are using the oven on the boat. A sweet little chicken is roasting away. We leftover farro salad. When the chicken is done, in goes a peach pie. The oil lamps are lit.

chilly???? ..really???..not a few miles away in PTown....hot and humid...I just closed the door and kicked on the AC

tonight I marinated some boneless chicken thighs in soy, OJ, Lemon and lime juice, ginger, honey, garlic and Matouks......grilled em up... brushed some teriyaki sauce on them as they came off the fire....with grilled eggplant and rice

Damp as can be. Maybe chilly from too much time in the water from falls off of our mooring neighbor's paddleboard. Windy. But I want to throw my chicken overboard and have Katva's pork immediately if not sooner.

It blew through here around 3 pm today...sit tight! We had a lovely, warm but dry evening...the humidity fell with each hour. Made the spicey dinner even more perfect ;)

Rosemary---I wish we were out on our little sailboat!

Weather permitting, off to the Durham Fair tomorrow. Fair food - steamed lobster, pulled pork, grilled corn, fried everything. Clam cakes, fried clams, hotdogs, corn fritters, and I am always amazed - the food is surprisingly good. There is a roast beef booth, rotisserie, that is...mesmerizing. Rows and rows of skewered roasts sizzling away. Last year I won a stuffed purple monkey by throwing darts and rode the ferris wheel by myself for the first time in my life. This year my sweetheart is coming!

that all sounds great!!!.....I love fairs

working on the weekend menu tonight
I'm thinking a curried squash soup with lobster meat and a maple/chipotle glazed roast loin of pork with apple chutney for one day...and a good ol fashion chili with jalapeno cornbread for the other day

We will find none of those at the Fair. Everything sounds delicious, and we will keep them in mind for Fall - starting today...It was a lovely summer. On we go.

We decided not to cook on the boat. Off to the Cooke House! Quail for my sweetheart and a fig, prosciutto, polenta somesuch for me. Wonderful. As we left, a band began to play. The Foreverly Brothers.

Ahh. Love that band. They were the Bucket Band at Baz Bar and the guys were just a delight.
