At cocktail hour, Mme Cassidain mentioned that she felt a possible case of Scurvy coming on.
That was all I needed to hear to call an audible from our usual (virtually nightly) Tanqueray Martini (stirred, not shaken, blue cheese Castelvetrano olives, not dirty) to William F. Buckley Jr's famous Planter's Punch.

Combine in a shaker can (per PP):

juice of 1 lime
juice of 1/2 lemon
1/2 oz unsweetened Pomegranate juice
1/2 oz agave syrup
1 dash Angostura
2 oz dark Rum

Add lots of ice and shake vigorously.
Strain into ice-filled highball glass.
Add 2 oz Perrier.
Stir gently.

Guaranteed to kill Scurvy, and indicated as effective therapy for most mosquito-born diseases

Donna is so lucky having you in her corner. What a guy! I was lucky to get cured by an Aperol spritz with a slice of orange.

OF course, the ultimate cure for scurvy is owed to Lauchlan Rose, of the L. Rose & Company, “lime juice and wine merchants.” Used from the 1700s to treat this widespread cause of death among sailors and other explorers who suffered from vitamin C deficiency.

Fortunately, this contributor to the Forum has managed to avert the malady by reliance on a certain cocktail utilizing Rose's Lime Juice:
4-5 oz high quality vodka
1/2 oz Rose's Lime Juice
a "splash" of Cointreau
. . . shake with ice & serve "up"
