The West Indies Regatta returns to St Barth next month after a 3-year absence.

and it's a lovely event and glad they will be back... a delightful dose of Caribbean charm!

Be sure to check the Regatta’s artisanal market on the quay. You’ll find everything from Regatta t-shirts to jewelry to produce which came in from another island on one of the Regatta boats.

I agree, it's a cool, old-fashioned market and recalls the days then those traditional wooden boats carried goods from one island to another.. there is sometimes good coffee and chocolate from various islands....

I remember one year, when race week in Antigua preceded the Regatta. One of the Regatta boats sailed from Antigua to Dominica, loaded up with fresh produce, and sailed to St Barth for the Regatta and the market. Traditional schooner trade.

I think that the market hours will be what I’ve listed below, but check again closer to those dates:


Friday 4/28 5pm-9pm
Saturday 4/29 3pm / 9pm
Sunday 4/30 3pm / 9pm

Thanks for this information, Kevin. We will definitely check out the artisanal market and all of its offerings. Historically, we’re always on island when Les Voiles is going on. It’s so exciting to watch the racing, especially from a boat. It’ll be wonderful to see this regatta for the first time and we are all really excited about it! Our family is staying in a villa up above Gustavia harbor on the hillside and will have a birds eye view of the quay!

Hope to see you while we are on St. Barths! We will be there from 4/26-5/6, and our grown kids will be down too. Would be fun to meet you and any other Forum folks who may be on island at the same time.
