You are probably right.

I think this was the fence surrounding La Licorne. Shot in 2001, I think it was already history:

does anyone remember the name of the nightclub that I think was up near santa fe. run by some guy and his mother and wife, I think?

Feelings was the one in Lurin near the Santa Fe, which then became the Hot Spot Cafe, and is now the St Barth Pub...

La Licorne was just down from the Normandie where the Wok is now... Wok was originally where the Portuguese restaurant is now

does anyone remember when Sante Fe had a pool table and pinball machine inside?? its been a while for me,but I doubt those items are still there..

I remember shooting some pool and watching the TV while waiting for my burger (with my Harley parked under the deck out front.) Nice folks that ran that place. Ah! Memories.

I don't remember a pinball machine. Too many Caribs?

Eve . . . if we're thinking of the same place, the nightclub near Santa Fe was "Le New Feeling." It wasn't a guy & his "girlfriend." The latter -- Mylene -- now is the hostess for Nikki Beach, and she operated Le New Feelilng with her brother, Renee. Their mother, Mireille, usually was at the bar, near the door, and was an unofficial monitor of all things in the club. Mireille is President of the Chorale group at the Anglican Church (and, I might add, has a beautiful voice).

I came to know Renee, Mylene, and Mireille when Renee and Mylene were stars of the floor show at La Banane under impresario Jean-Marie RIVIERE. It was outrageously sexy, daring, and funny (for commentary comparing and contrasting it to a later version of the show, see http://www.cieux.com/stbarth/dcln1.html from Phil Stripling, an early St. Barths friend and the creator of the site that, I believe, became St. Barths Online (as developed by Peter & Laurence O'Keefe)).

The La Banane nightclub era was, as you probably remember, of the same time as what might be considered the peak period of Autour du Rocher. Survivors recall it with great fondness.

If you should go to Nikki Beach -- if for no other reason, simply to say "Hi" to Mylene -- you'll get a warm embrace for an inquiring reminiscence of Jean-Marie RIVIERE and the glory years of La Banane.

yep. was much more of a local hangout in the old days... hot dogs burgers, pool table and TV

no Dover Sole back then....Sante Fe was always the pre drink spot before crawling out of Club Feeling at 5am...big fun in my younger days..

I liked that you could buy a whole bottle of booze and they would keep it for you until you returned..it was yours and yours only..

My son was wearing a T Shirt from St. Barts with the lettering on it that said:
Doghouse Lounge
St. Barts F.W.I.
Was there such a place? I had to have purchased it around 2003.
Thanks,
Val

I can't say that Doghouse Lounge never existed, but I've never heard of it.

At one time like 5-6 years ago Santa Fe was run by a Mother and Son. As I recall Mom did all the work.
