Vitet

Has anyone stayed in the Vitet area of St. Barts? How are the views, winds. How far is it to St. Jean area and Gustavia? Did you find the area pleasant? We have stayed in the Mont Jean area, St. Jean area & Pointe Milou. How would you compare?

We loved Vitet and stayed at Villa Everest there. If you're facing the right way, you have spectacular views towards St. Maarten all the way to Anguilla. As to the winds we did not find them to be a problem but obviously most of Vitet is on the windward side of the island. Proximity to everything is not a problem. But face it on a 8 square mile island, how far away is anything? Enjoy yourselves.

We stayed at SIB CHO in Vitet for the Buffet concert/Le Sect 50th November of '99.The view from there was Grand Culde Sac, Petit Cul de Sac from very high up. Quiet and lovely. Once you make 1 or 2 trips to town or the match it doesn't seem unreasonably far. I'm looking forward to renting in Viet again when I can interest my friends in a villa I have my eye on there.

We stayed in Vitet in Villa Diaco. Once we learned the right way to get the Smart Car up the steep, steep street driveway, we were all set! The views were amazing. There's always a breeze and very few bugs.

We love Vitet. It's quiet and the views are gorgeous. No winds, just gentle breezes. Much more space between houses than MJ and St. Jean and without those unending winds of PM. We've enjoyed several stays at CHO and BIJ. Love the location, not far to anything, but what is?

Just returned in August from a stay in Vitet at Villa Celeste. It is just below Diaco and Everest, behind Grande Vista (which is enormous). We were mesmerized by the view each day and the breezes were the best. Compared to Pointe Milou you are up much higher and farther away from the sea, but you see more of it. Absolutely no mosquitoes the entire week, although we were eaten alive in Pointe Milou. It was more secluded with the only noise being the roosters and goats from the farm below and the occasional passing of a car going to and from the nearby villas. We loved Pointe Milou but enjoyed Vitet more for the expansive view and the quiet area. Celeste was really no farther than where we were near the Christopher. At Celeste, be prepared for the very nice kitty from Villa Grande Vista to stay with you the entire time. For a better idea of views, see my recently posted pics of the view from our villa in the Photo Gallery.
