Villa Villion

salem

SBH Insider
We're still villa shopping, and I saw this new villa listed w/. St. Barth Properties. Does anyone know anything about it personally? It's a 2 bedroom in Petite Saline w/. views of L'Orient. Has anyone ever stayed there or visited? Thoughts???

We just returned from 10 days at Villa Villion which we loved. New villa, well maintained, wonderful privacy, fantastic views (not sunset). The pictures do not do it justice. No problem with bugs. Two bedrooms suites with wonderful baths, each with two sinks. Plenty of hot water. Fully equipped kitchen..(could use a few more dishes, glasses). Only odd thing....all of the finishes in the villa are very nice, but they have plastic lounge chairs. We rented the villa as one bedroom for 7 nights, and then as two for three nights. They only provided two chaises for the first 7, then brought over two more when openned second bedroom. I think they would have brought them earlier if we asked, the owner was very cooperative. The villa overlooks Lorient, and other islands in distance. A very small portion of the driveway leading to the villa is not paved.

The owner may be putting in pool. The price increase from 2008 to 2009 is dramatic. It was probably underpriced originally. Now I think it may be too high.

Thanks for the info. It's a new villa, so we figured it would be very nice and clean. Do you know if the owner has plans to install wi-fi anytime soon? Also, how long did it take you to get to Gustavia, St. Jean, Saline, and Gouveneur (if you went to these places)? We've narrowed our search down to this villa and Villa Natanya.

I believe the friends who were with us for 3 days are going to Natanya next year. Villion is up the hill across from JoJo warehouse, and convenient to all, especially if you take the lorient to saline route. You go over the hill and come out at Andy's. The villa appeared to have wifi, but I did not bring my computer. There was a modem that was on. Two of the three blackberries worked. ATT and TMobile worked. I think the third person had Verizon, without interntional service. (I only used my blackberry to read the NY Times in the am, and check personal emails.)
