Does anyone have any experience with Villa Amour? It is on anse de cayes. Pros and cons? We would be there for our honeymoon from October 13-23. Thank you.
We stayed at this location many years ago. Also called Villa Sea, Sand and Sky I believe. It is a delightful spot... private but still close to everything. It was wonderful to have the jacuzzi and our own private little sand. Just note that the beach right there is very rocky and not suitable for swimming. Great fun for a walk as there were lots of tidepools When we were there in Jan it was extremely windy, my guess is you won't have that problem in Oct. but good to note. It is fun that they have added a kayak to the rental. If your wanting a great sunset I would chose a spot higher in the hills as the sun was obscured by the hills when we were there and while the sunrise was gorgeous (enjoyed begrudgingly with my toddler.. lol) I am guessing you won't be seeing many early mornings... just a guess. But if you hoping for a barefoot in the sand, relaxed kinda spot... this one is a winner. It is good they have added Air Conditioning in the living room/kitchen as I recall it got rather hot without it. The kitchen was not very big if I recall but it worked fine for us and we were a party of 4.
Congratulations on your wedding and honeymoon. St. Barts is an amazing place for such a wonderful occasion!
It is a great little villa. Small but has everything you need. We stayed there many years ago and really liked it. It is right on the beach, don't have to turn left or right. Just walk between the shrubs and you are on the beach. The gazebo was not there when we rented it. If you want to go swimming, you have to walk down to the end of Anse de Cayes where Manapany Hotel is - the water is a bit clearer there with not so much coral. If you want to do a lot of swimming in the sea, you probably will want a villa on a different beach.
The beach is right there... no need to walk far... but swimming will require a fair walk...as pointed out. It was far enough for us and there are enough other beaches with easy access by car we did not walk down to swim the entire time we were there... just tide pool hunted and got a few toes wet. So as gjd618 points out if you want to swim in the sea directly from your villa, stay elsewhere. But with your own pool right there on the sand too, I think don't think you will miss much. But it all depends on what you are looking for.
