The Collectivité is updating the parking across from the Anglican Church, the area known as the Fond De Rade, the head of the harbor. At present, cars park there “wheels up”.
From Xavier Lédée, as translated by Google:
The Collectivity of Saint-Barthélemy is launching redevelopment work at the Fond de Rade in Gustavia, as part of a comprehensive plan.
Many of you have sent me your messages and suggestions.
As with the Rue du Bord de Mer project, this project will facilitate parking and improve traffic flow, as angled parking is more practical than parallel parking on the sidewalk; to deny the obvious would be to ignore the facts. Delivery spaces will be marked.
It will also offer more landscaped recreational areas and contribute to improving the urban environment of the waterfront. Benches will continue to be positioned facing the sea.
This work will be completed before the start of the school year. Further improvements, as well as landscaping projects, are planned for next summer in other areas, continuing this overall project.
