Now, what does monsieur le président propose to do about the motor scooter parking on opposite trottoir ?

Last time down, after dinner one evening the sidewalk was impassable in one spot. I had no intention of wading into the line of oncoming traffic, so I just kicked one of the scooters out of the way.

nothing will be done about the scooter parking. nothing is done when they pass you instead of waiting their turn, I have seen the scooters passing the gendarmes, they do nothing. and if you have to move a scooter out of the way just to walk....then do it.

Actually, the opponents of the project are saying that it is really only adding two spaces, and costs 450,000€ (!)

I think it looks nice, though. I wish there was more green space (grass) like there is now, but to me, it looks better than a million cars parked on the sidewalk.

seems to me they could have just taken away the bollards and sidewalk and left the same row of parking that was half on the sidewalk - just had it on road level indented enough to be off the street - people can walk along the waterfront...

Driving from Le Repaire toward Le Select, it will be done in the last block that leads up to & dead ends at Le Select . . . . places like watch stores, Chamade, Clic, & the currency exchange shop along the block.

Ha ha ha. Pull in parking in downtown Sarasota one of the reasons we chose to settle here. Reminiscent of downtown Glen C ove when we arrived there in 1969

One problem on that stretch of road is the valet parking for a few restaurants at night and the new parking arrangement will not do anything to alleviate that in the evenings. It's very congested and the only route for ambulances to get to the hospital. The cost is also very high for the addition of maybe two spots...and as this article above points out the project was not approved by the executive council... another issue is that they keep allowing new boutiques to be built without any parking which only makes the entire situation worse...

Maybe that space should not be for parking but be a loading/unloading zone only for valets, taxis, thoughtful (obedient) husbands dropping off their beautiful wives shod in the Louboutins, etc
