First time using Tradewind from SJU, amazing. Was able to interline with American so literally got off plane, went to Tradewind checkin, a glass of Rose for the wife, a beer for me and the best flight over ever!
First night dinner at Eddys was perfect. Haven’t been there in about 15 years and it was just the perfect fit for first night. Service, food all spot on.
Tonight just back from Mamo for the first time ever and all I can say is wow. We love Italian food and this was as good as it gets. It was quiet downtown, and in the restaurant bit didn’t damper a thing. The quality of meal was outstanding, and the staff all so friendly. This place is not to be missed.
Sitting poolside in the Colombier hill listening to frogs with a nice breeze about to go to sleep and do it all again. It doesn’t get any better than this!

Off to an awesome start!

is the interline cooperation AA/TW new ?
does TW fetch your checked bags from AA without incurring the VIP fee ?

Bonne Continuation !

I called TW. AA sends checked bags directly to TW. Should be able to book hour and half connection that way. Nice 😊
I guess it depends where you board AA. We used to live in Charlottesville, VA. The odds of any AA flight leaving on time were so low we had to do things like get the first flight of the day so we could get rebooked on a later one, or plan on a 3-4 hour layover in Charlotte or Miami and hope it was enough, stuff like that. But being able to check your luggage all the way would be nice (for those who check luggage...😆)

We always overnight in either CLT or SJU.
If CLT just hope next morning flight on time.
If SJU you’re already at the airport for next morning TW flight.

I’m not sure if new or not, but discovered in our planning stage. When we left our hometown the baggage claim ticket was all the way to SBH. Yes Tradewind a collected our bags and they were already on our plane when we got there. We had a delay getting to San Juan so only had one hour and it was no problem. No VIP was needed and it was a breeze.

I do think you must book it together on one ticket through AA to achieve this. As Cassidain said you can then link your TW rewards. The entire flight down from Alabama to Miami, Miami to SJU, and SJU to SBH all showed on my Tradewind app as well.
