Hi everyone!

I just left St Barths, where I was for six nights. I wanted to thank everyone here for all of your fantastic posts, I consulted the boards a lot when planning my trip. So I figured I had to report back on all of my findings! This was my second time on the magical island, the first time was two years ago and on that trip I tried Tamarin, Bonito, Petit Plage, Jojo Burger, Le Select, Shellona and Gyp Sea. That trip was with my sisters, and this time I brought my boyfriend. We live in NYC so have no interest in visiting restaurants that we have in NY, and he is much more laid back, so I wanted to mix it up.

First of all, the weather! Last time I came was in June as well and it was perfect. It was a bit windy at times at Flamands, but it was blue skies the whole time, except for maybe 7 minutes of rain. We hiked to Colombier twice, once from Flamands around the coves at Petit Anse, then once from the main road up top. View above! I am a low season lover...no people and great weather in my opinion.

Now on to the restaurants!

Our first night, we went to Papillon Ivre, which I had read about here. It was so special- every bite was amazing, we especially loved the duck confit, frisee lardons and eggplant dishes. So fun to try different wines and great hospitality. We walked right in after grabbing a drink at Eden Roc, and it was filling up as we left. Thank you all for raving about this!!!

Our second day, we had dinner at Eddys. I had wanted to visit on my first trip but did not make it, was so glad we did. This was our favorite atmosphere of the whole trip and GREAT food and service! We wanted to go back. Had awesome papaya salon, seared wahoo, and more.

We did a lunch at Nao on Wednesday, and it was very quiet, but the sushi was good. I think we wish we did this Saturday (we had a lunch at La Guerité scheduled Sat but cancelled it but I can imagine a lunch at any of the beach clubs would be more lively Saturday than Weds in the off season). After lunch we drove to Le Toiny and took the cars down for a beachside beverage, love the vibe there. Had dinner at La Case which was refined and beautiful.

We made it to Jojo Burger the next day which is always great, especially after so many more fancy restaurants. That evening we did dinner at Le Café. The food was not good, but we loved the singer at the 9:30 and had more of a party evening. It's a good vibe overall but would probably just come to the bar instead of sitting for dinner next time.

We walked over from our hotel to La Langouste and it did not seem open for lunch, so on Friday we just ate at our hotel. We did dinner at Sella. The vibe and service and food at Sella were GREAT! It's also pricey but they have a DJ and it's more of a party vibe if that is your thing. Much better food than Le Café.

We wanted to go to Les Bananiers per your recommendations but it is closed right now for a week, as is Ti Corail. So we got sandwiches at Petit Colombe and hiked to Colombier for our final lunch and cancelled our res at La Guerité. It was a great way to close out the trip, we felt like it was much more special than a fancy lunch.

For our last dinner we did Baz Bar, which was good and easy for sushi, we had nice seats overlooking the boats, and it was chill and easy going for a final night. We finished with a night cap and rum cake at Chez Gus. The atmosphere there is adorable, and we would have liked to do go to dinner. Food looked great.

Overall, great trip! We made it to almost every beach and Saline and Gouverneur were gorgeous as usual. In the future I look forward to going back to a few of these, trying out L'Esprit and Les Bannaniers, and more! We also had a res at Black Ginger but cancelled one night, that's definitely on my radar as well. I now feel like I have a great lay of the land of what is reasonable and delicious and what the more sceney places are. There really is something for everyone!

View last night at Baz Bar.

Anyways, I hope someone finds this helpful, as I found all of your posts a great resource!

Thank you for sharing. La Guerite is hot during the day. We did not love Baz in May however glad you did & the view from Baz is spectacular!

We definitely will next time. It looks amazing! It just wasn't in the cards on the last day when we wanted a final relaxing moment.
Agreed the restos are so amazing, but for us nothing beats a picnic sur la plage or a sunset apéro, très magnifique
