Toddler Friendly?

So here we are, in paradise, with our 18-month old! Hubby and I have been to the island several times before (sans child) and enjoyed many restaurants, but this time, our needs are a little different. I know many of you have visited with small children, so I'd appreciate a little guidance on where to go.

Mainly we plan to stick to lunch - dinner just runs too late for out little island baby. So, any suggestions for lunch places that won't give us the evil eye for bringing a toddler? We plan to spend one afternoon in Gustavia, so any suggestions there would be wonderful. High chairs are not a necessity, I have a portable one that folds up and attaches to most regular chairs, or he will sit on his own.

I have to say, everyone we've encountered has been very friendly towards us with having a small child in tow. I feel like in the US I get more dirty looks than we have here. Most people smile and wave at our little guy, talk to him, etc. It's a huge relief!

J,

Anywhere will welcome Le bébé! Wall House, Le Select, Le Repaire and many, many more. The Hideaway too!

So... sounds like anywhere, then! Actually, we were considering Creperie - we've never been. Thanks for the advice, everyone! :)

We took both our girls just about everywhere when they were toddlers. I don't think we ever got dirty looks.
Our favorites are the restaurants with family appeal or a little more noise as we enjoy the event a little more.

That said for lunch your options really open up.

I have seen plenty of toddlers just about everywhere.
One place you wouldn't probably think of...
Nikki beach is actually great with little ones... comfy couches, on the beach, linger as long as you like...

Another great beach option for lunch is La Gloriette in Gran Cul De Sac. You can enjoy the free lounge chairs and the calm water allows your toddlers to wade as you relax... fun under the trees relaxation

Dinner...
Eddy's was always a wonderful place to take our kiddos. Welcomed and it feels a little like the Tikki Room at Disneyland with lots of things to look at.
Also, you might try L'Isoletta in Gustavia... fun couches, great casual pizzas to go if you want...

For lunch, we never had any issues anywhere.

One dinner suggestion is Maya's. There are extremely child friendly. There is a sand area and my kids played in the sand between courses.

The love for baby on that island is never ending....my observations tell me that the French love babies :)

Lots of new places to try! I think I read somewhere Maya's is closed for the season, and I know Nikki Beach is closed - they just had a big party the other day. La Gloriette sounds like it could be a great option; we planned on heading to Grand Cul de Sac one day since it's so shallow and calm. We never went there when it was just the two of us, so I didn't even know there was a restaurant on the beach.

Gloriette, Creperie, and Andy's will finish our week out nicely!

Le Viet Nam in gustavia is very child friendly.they give the kiddies paper hats to wear.My grandchildren loved the nems.

May's still open tonight and they do their closing buffet tomorrow night - a great evening for anyone on island...

never had a problem any where whatsoever with our bambina in tow

+1.

Olivia was 2.5 last year, and we took her almost everywhere...she's also an adventurous eater...

The waitresses loved her. Not an issue.
