Very good friends of ours took us to see Domaine Felicite in Public this morning. It is a small museum, which chronicles two centuries of St. Bart's history on the walls inside the little villas on the property. Behind the villas there is an award-winning, completely stunning garden that will take your breath away. It is truly a secret garden.

I understand that they are open to the public on Wednesday and Sundays from 3pm to 6pm, and also will be open on Saturdays 3pm to 6pm after the holidays are over.

To get there, start at the statute at the circle above the airport and head down the hill to gustavia. On your left you will see a stone wall with a brand new wooden fence. Just as you are approaching the road that leads to Corossol on your right, you will want to turn hard left, where you will see a parking lot. Head left from the commercial buildings (AMC i think). You will find a very small traditional St. Bart Villa, and this is the beginning of the tour....and an absolute adventure into the history of St. Bart.

For those of you that love to see historic photos of St. Bart, this is the place for you. For those of you who would like to sit on a bench in a lush garden with all kinds of amazing plants, this is also the place for you.

Enjoy!

Hi Jen,
I have seen the landscapers working there the past several months. Nice to know what they were working diligently upon. We will check in out next week.
Thank you for the tip.

Wow and thanks. We always turned right to maya’s or straight to Gustavia. Will check it out next May

Wow, who knew?! Thanks for making us aware of this little gem...we will definitely look forward to visiting in April!

I have enjoyed watching this little village brought to life. A great project and a wonderful tribute to old St Barths and future generations.

There was an article in The Weekly about it two weeks ago, you can check it out online... in this issue:

the gardens are wonderful with all plants and trees native to the island and the fact they have saved a few of the old houses is great... nice focus on the island's heritage...

a look at the garden:

Sounds awesome, will make sure we visit it on our next trip.

On a related note, does anyone know what happened to the Shell Museum? I think the owner died, but I wonder what happened to all those shells?

In May we'd pass by couple times each day & could see progress as we zig zagged up & down the hill. On my docket for May 2019. Thanks for posting & for Ellen in the SBH Weekly piece.

In the "complex" there is parking for around 10-15 cars or so. I also forgot to mention there is a 10 euro entrance fee. If you are into history, or into gardening, I believe it is a good investment :)
