Greetings, St. Barth Friends!
Here's our trip recap for 2025. Our 34th year of traveling to our beloved island brought some delightful surprises.
First, let's talk about the food. In addition to our perennial favorites like L’Esprit, Tamarin, Eddy’s, Ti’Corail, and Pearl Beach—each a standout in its own right—we discovered some new culinary gems. Bonito, Nyama, Nikki Beach (for lunch), Baz Bar (who we are saddened to hear is closing) exceeded our expectations. Now Sand Bar…Cheryl and I cherish parking across from Pearl on Saturday nights and taking a romantic stroll along the beach at St. Jean. The memories flood back, filling us with wonderful energy, followed by the simple ritual of washing our feet before dinner at Eden Rock outdoor spritzes. The service at Sand Bar is fantastic, ambiance a home run; however, the food left something to be desired. The lobster ravioli, one of our go-to dishes at Tamarin, was disappointing, and Cheryl's tuna tartare appetizer was lacking in actual tuna. We're hopeful for an improved dining experience next year and plan to make our stroll again—perhaps it was just a one-off night.
Another unexpected highlight of this trip was the relationships we developed. We thoroughly enjoyed connecting with Dennis Carlton (a treasured soul) Peter and Lynn, Scott & Tim, Norman & his lovely wife, Leon & Irina, Scott & his lovely wife, Bill & Mary Rose, Vincent, Missy and Sofia, Toni and Gary (thank you, Toni, for the invite to that Friday party—it sounded amazing!). We loved engaging with The Junies at Le Select and, of course, Brett the Caribbean Soul, Kim, and Kristen. Missing Amy & Phil though. We could easily spend every moment with these incredible people!
Lastly, we had the chance to experience the Rum Festival—what an outrageous event!
Here’s to more adventures and memories made on our next trip!
See you on the beach…
