The "Pool Too Small" regret, how do you measure before booking?

We almost pulled the trigger on a gorgeous 3BR in Vitet last week. Gorgeous view, great price. But then I looked at past guest photos and realized the "private pool" was a large bathtub with a jet. You couldn't do a single lap and 4 adults would be touching knees.

For those who’ve made this mistake before: what’s your trick for gauging pool size from photos when the listing only says "pool (private)"? I’ve started asking for a photo with a person standing next to it, but agents get annoyed.

Any specific villa you’ve rented where the pool was actually swimmable? Budget $5k-8k for high season. Merci.

I learned this the hard way in Flamands. Now I use Google Earth measurements. Seriously. Many villa listings include the pool dimensions in meters if you ask for the technical sheet. WIMCO and St. Barth Properties will provide it. If an agent gets annoyed, switch agents. For your budget look at Villa CEC in Lurin. Pool is 12m x 4m

I believe villa CEC is actually in Marigot, but yes it has a great pool. I’d also recommend any of Rosita’s villas.
