I did my normal exercise routine this morning and decided I needed to go to the store. I was out of bounty towels. I went in the store and saw they only had the single rolls. I asked the clerk if they had the 12 pack of the double rolls, she said of course, I will send someone to get them. I also decided to get q-tips and tooth brushes while I was there. one of the guys put the towels on top of the counter in front of the cash register. I told her I had 2 more items, she scanned the q-tips & tooth brushes. she said cash or card, I said card. I never look at the amount here, as they have always been correct. I put in my code, the cashier said would you like a credit card receipt. I said oui. I found this odd as they usually just give me a receipt here without asking if I want one.

I put my receipt in my purse and put my things in the car. I was driving and was thinking about the conversation that had just happened. I reached into my purse and brought out the receipt and looked at it, I decided to pull over for this. when I first looked, it looked like 270 euros, and I thought that can't be correct, I looked closer as I was not wearing my reading glasses and saw that it said 2 euros and 70 cents. yikes. neither amount would have been correct.

I called dda and met him at work. He said that he knew the owner and he took pics of all the items and the receipt and will make things right. I really think the cashier just made a mistake. I hope she does not get in trouble, but I just did not feel right about not paying the correct amount. In the future I will check the amount before putting in my code.
