Went last night. It was perfect. Manu greeted us with much enthusiasm and seated us on the edge of restaurant overlooking gardens. Had a most attentive waitress. Started with a wahoo appetizer that was very tasty and an arugula salad. He had truffle risotto with scallops and I had mahi with rice covered with a sweet coconut sauce. Both meals were excellent. Followed by vanilla rum and a ginger spice rum that topped off the evening. There was a loud table that got there just as we were leaving but you can find that in any restaurant. After 40 years of dining there through various ownerships we still find it to be special.

You’ll get varied responses I imagine. Some prefer seating in the garden, some in the main pavilion. I doubt anyone prefers the annex pavilion but maybe

We have always chosen to sit on edge of main building off to the side. That is our preference. Seems more and more tables are set up on the lawn area but it looks uneven. Sure the garden is lovely also and maybe more quiet. All depends on who you get sitting nearby.

We ask for « Kevin’s table » right by the lily pond.

As mentioned, my preferred table is the front left table (as you approach), by the lily pond. In descending order, the next to the right, then the table on the opposite corner, then any front table. For me, the lawn is for cocktails, not dinner.

Btw, in my experience, unless you’re a true friend of the house (everyone is greeted as a friend of the house) you can request a table while reserving, but you may well have to assert your will upon arriving to actually get the table you want.

I usually have great luck securing primo seating at a few restaurants. I may, or may not, be Phil and Amy’s daughter…

We sat in the garden last year for the first time, and it was delightful. We prefer sitting on the deck by the left or right edge of the garden.

We had a fantastic first night dinner at Tamarin a little over two weeks ago, sitting in the garden and even withstanding two brief rain showers. Oddly, ten nights later, our last night dinner was kind of okay...good, but not special. Not sure what the difference may have been. Have to agree with above that the wahoo tiradito is fantastic.

It'a beautiful everywhere, probably one of the best decorated restaurants on the island. The food on the other hand was nothing special in my opinion, but I am sure you will enjoy an experience

The Tamarin experience seems to be rather polarizing among forum folk.
So far, we like it.
