Tamarin - another view

After a couple a very good reviews by Kevin and Bart, we have now gone to Tamarin for both lunch and dinner. Le Tamarin was the very first St. Barth’s restaurant we went to when we honeymooned on the island a dozen years ago. Like many, we were disappointed when it shut down and excited when we heard it was re-opening during our trip this year.

First the landscaping is quite spectacular. There are many spots to relax and have a drink. For our seven year old daughter, she loved the play area, the “bird” and winding boardwalk throughout the grounds. It is obvious that the restaurant was well thought out before opening. The two young owners were present (Paco & Julie) and very involved in our two visits - we wish them success.

The lunch and dinner menus are both simple but with items that should suit most tastes (probably a good idea when opening a new restaurant – not too overwhelm the kitchen with options). We all enjoyed our selections and appreciated the friendly & attentive service.

Here are few pics of our time;

Annabelle had the Beef Fillet which was excellent and included frites that were simply outstanding (maybe fried in duck fat & garlic?)

I had the Surf & Turf - the turf being a veal. No regrets for either menu selections!

Patrick, I'm glad that it worked out for you. I'll keep that Surf and Turf dinner in mind for my next visit in a few months.

Just had dinner and those photos make me hungry all over again. Looking forward to enjoying this spot again! We missed it!
