SXM Cancels Fireworks and builds stupid pool. Thin skinned people abound.

I like that they have the safety rope on one side of the floats - so you don't fall into the wrong water by accident.

You could always eat on the other side of the street- Alabama or Auberge for instance. LOL. I used to be on that site many years ago but I got into too many fights- people there are too thin skinned.

or you're too....???

The problem with that site is a lot of the posters are timeshare owners and want to protect their turf so if you say anything negative or ask a question about crime they get very defensive.

This layout reminds me of my days at summer camp where the lake had docks and assorted cribs for swimmers-beginner, intermediate, deep water. But Grand Case is not camp, is it? Amy

When we used to stay at the Beach Club, I used to see teachers giving the kids swimming lessons all the time on Grand Case. That "pool" doesn't make any sense. You have the entire beach and ocean.

pretty dumb idea, IMHO.

NYC has a floating pool built into a barge...they drag it all over the city in the summer to bring swimming to kids...

so stupid

SXM does have a history of questionable decisions. Dare I mention the new, improved airport facility?

As for crime, happens everywhere to one degree or another. I remember talking to a business acquaintance some years ago. He was astounded that we go to the Caribbean often. Their first and only trip down was to SXM. They were run off the road by two carloads of armed a*sholes and robbed. "We have never gone back to the Caribbean" he said. What's that they say about "first impressions?"

thats about 125,000e a kid. And THAT, according to those travel to sxm, is a good use of government funds.

Cheap by European standards.

All the fish and other stuff in the sea could spoil your nice swim. I've done trips in the Caribbean without swimming in the ocean (*

*) (.. but not because of the fish, I learnt to swim in a freshwater lake so my mouth doesn't always stay closed, and it's no fun with the salt water).

What? What? I just got up and am having my first cup of coffee. :D :p

Luv y'all. The mods are alright, too.

I am basically banned from the sxm site for having negative comments about the ridiculous huge pool that is in the water in front of the grand case restaurants.
Total waste of money.

I saw the spankin' that you took there. Three thoughts often come to mind when I read that site.
1) Allowing Anonymous posting is a bad thing.
2) Be thankful for the Moderators that we have here.
3) I'm really glad that I found SBH.
