I have heard the same thing from Stephan and Bernard (the clothing store guys). They would never step foot into Grand Cul and even went on to say St. Jean isn't great either.

I took some aerial shots while hang gliding in Rio....lookin at em, asked one of the guys what the brown streams were crossing a popular beach and emptying into the S Atlantic.

You don't want to know.

They test weekly and the results are often published in the News and the Weekly's. They are always above the standards.

which if the standard is a good one...is a good thing...

some pretty nasty stuff at times coming out of the storm drains on the east side of Nikki, particularly after a hard rain....

I think the urine suggestion is one recommended for those in a situation where any kind of real medicine is not readily available....and perhaps ammonia from a bottle is too strong and pure for the application maybe?

Works for me - some Benadryl or Waldryl, before swimming out. Lived in Miami for a few years. Always hit those jellies while swimming and diving. Irritating little (or, not so little) buggers. A slosh in the ocean and picking out the pickers was always part of the routine. Oh, by the way, I'm still here to talk about it. LOL and loving all the time I spent in the water.
