StBarth Villa w/ toddlers- St Jean or Gouverneur ?

Bonjour,
I am new to the board and would like to get some help w/ renting villas in St Barth. Thanks all, ahead for your kind help. We have 2 toddlers (4 & 2yr old) and will be in St Barth for 4-5 nights in one month (Apr 2006). Since it is so close, our choice for villa is limited. We are down to "Villa sur la plage" on St Jean beach or "Villa la luna", in gouverneur hills. These are from www2.gobeach.com rental agencies. Does any one know these 2 properties? Is it clean and nice? Any thoughts on beachfront vs. hillside for convenience w/ kids? We like the "la luna" for pricing and it's not too far from beach. Will be in 3 islands on this Caribbean visits so would like to spread $$ evenly.
Are open to hotels as well but our hotel choice right now is StBarts beach and did not see very good reviews from tripadvisor. Thanks very much for your help.

Beach v Hill is often debated. With toddlers, Les Islets Sur Le Plage could be a great solution. Just make sure the bedrooms have a joining wall and are not seperated by the living area. Les Islets is on St Jean, the most chap-friendly beach on the island. That would be a very solid choice.

Sur La Plage for sure- the far end of St. Jean- nice beach, water and pool. Watch the puddle-jumpers land and take off.
St. Barth Beach Hotel is OK- a little tired maybe- Grand Cul De Sac is a good beach for the kids tho.

Thanks for your replies. Les ilets on St Jean is completely booked. Sur la plage is more expensive and my hubby prefers la luna villa, on gouverneur hills. Do you know anything about this place? http://www2.gobeach.com/stbarts/luna.htm
How about hotel baie des anges in Flamands? Is it nice? I heard the resto there is good. Thanks.

Re: StBarth Villa w/ toddlers- St Jean or Gouverne

Go for Sur La Plage. We almost rented that one ourselves one trip. Luna is nice but with toddlers St. Jean is a better location. Beachfront with little ones is great for mom and dad. Less walking to and from the car with gear, easy access to naps in afternoon or when it gets too hot you just go inside. Bring a baby monitor and you and your spouse can even work on your tan on the beach while the little ones sleep. They will love watching the planes too. What are your dates? We are there in April with our 6 and 2 year old girls. We could get together.

BTW--We love Gouvernour. It is a fabulous beach and you will find us there most afternoons. But the water is too rough for kids. By the cove at the entrance is some calmer water. Which is why there are so many families there. On the other hand St. Jean water is perfect for kiddos. That might help with your decision.
