St Barts in June

Hi

I might have to reschedule a planned trip to St Barts due to UK Covid lockdown. What is St Barts like in June? I googled it but there was lots of different information. Will all the bars and restaurants be open? How is the weather?

Thanks Ben

Ben, I’ve been down in early June many times. Weather is warm and everything is open. Past few years a few restaurants might close for a week or two for summer holiday, but vast majority are open. A group of posters on the Forum known as the Junies used to make the pilgrimage every year.

And you could find them sharing love, friendship, and ti punches on the 5th to celebrate Mr Marius on his birthday.

His passing has left a gap in island life.

Seconded! We visit in very late May / early June every year, and it is one of our favorite times to come to the island. Is the weather a bit hotter? Sure. However, you're avoiding peak hurricane season by months still, everything is open on the island (as already mentioned), and (best of all, IMO) all of the hotels and rental car agencies are offering low season rates that are often as much as 50% lower than what you would pay in December through March.

Because it is off-season, you'll also enjoy finding parking far more easily during peak hours, easily getting into the most popular restaurants, and beaches that often have only three or four other people on them.

Have a wonderful trip!

I always liked my June visits. In addition to the cost savings, it's far enough from the end of the hectic high season for locals to be rested and relaxed. The island seems happier to have you, if that makes any sense. And, the normal June gatherers have become a close group, so the reunions add to the enjoyment.

I have visited the island over 20 times in June alone as it is my favourite month. The first 2 weeks are slightly better than the last 2. The best part about a June visit is the weather is sunny and dry and the seas calm and the traffic light. I have been to SBH every month but September and June ranks #1 with November #2 and March #3.

Let’s be honest, Foxy. ANY time on St Barths is marvelous. September can be rough hurricane weather, so plan around that.

I agree with Amy. Any time spent is worth it. Our villa owner was gracious enough to move our deposit from May 2020 to May 2021. We are going this year one way or another. We honeymooned the 1st week of June 1987 during our first visit to St. Barth. It was magical.
