ST Barth Commuter change?

Hi,
I just booked April flights on St Barth Commuter, and as I was paying, the site offered the option (for an additional sum) to be escorted from our international flight through transit to the SBC gate. We travel without checked luggage and they have always escorted everyone on the arriving flight through in-transit for no fee. It seems they are charging more if you have checked luggage and less if not. Is this something new?

We have almost 2 hours to transit so I'm not too worried. We haven't been to the new Julianna airport so I don't know if the process has changed, might be longer or shorter, or if I need to be concerned since we are traveling mid-week.

I'd be grateful for your thoughts.

I connected without checked luggage last Feb. Very easy with the new airport. Go past the 'transit' Security gate/scanner to the SBC counter (still in the same corridor, not in the main Departure lobby). Pick up boarding passes. Then go back to transit Security gate/scanner. Not very far walk between the two.

Shouldn't take more than 10-15 min from de-boarding incoming flight to getting through Security.
