St. Barth’s Commuter Covid Testing Requirements

Maybe it’s a mistake, but when I fly Tradewinds, I feel confident relying on their info/guidance.[/QUOTE

My guess, awluter, is that you would find a scant few, if any, with any apprehension about the validity of information from Tradewind.

VACCINATION REQUIREMENT
The government of St Barths considers a traveler fully vaccinated:

  • 1 week after the second shot of a double-injection vaccine (e.g. Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca)
  • 4 weeks after the shot of a single-injection vaccine (e.g. Johnson & Johnson)
  • 2 weeks after the first injection of a vaccine having previously had COVID-19
  • All vaccines against COVID-19 are acceptable for entry into St Barths.

Yes - I flew AA connecting to SBC on March 19. If you have 2 shots and carry ons then after departing bus from tarmac go to SBC rep by the two ramps and tell him your name and he will escort you up the LEFT ramp to bypass customs. If you checked bags he will ask for tags and radio to collect bags for you but I always pack carry ons only.

From there you show QR Code EHAS form first then security check and then passports and your in the lounge area. Takes 10 minutes.

My response this morning…..:wink2:

Good morning,

Unfortunately the sanitary conditions change often and at the time of answering you there was always a need for a test.

We have received the new update and indeed if you have the complete vaccine the test is no longer necessary.

Thank you for yyour understanding.

With our very best Regards,

This information is outdated (part of the FAQ on Tradewind website). It all changed when the "pass sanitaire" was implemented. Since January 15th, 2022, "fully vaccinated' means 3 doses.

You might get away with it (as we know SBH Gendarmes are not exactly verifying all documents on arrival), but the fact remains. "Fully vaccinated" by French Law, means 2 dose + booster shot. Thousands of French citizens disqualified as "fully vaccinated" on January 15th, losing their "pass sanitaire", creating a big mess in the country, just because they didn't get their booster shot.

Clicking on the Tradewind link, that was provided as part of the post, links you to the Tradewinds travel advisory page as of March 13, 2022.

Excerpt as it relates to “fully vaccinated.”

Hi all.

We are flying BOS-SXM on Jet Blue and then WinAir SXM - SBH on the same day. When I go on to the official EHAS website and fill in the form, I enter the arrival date of 4/2 and the departure date of 4/2. I show "number of nights in SXM" as 0, I check the box that says "yes" "transit stop only in St Martin", I show the final destination of SBH and finally I show the departure info as WinAir + the flight number.

But the website wont let me go farther and gives me this error message "The Date of arrival in Sint Maarten must be a date before +3days"

I can't figure out what it's trying to tell me. Has anyone come across this yet? Thanks.

The EHAS form needs to be completed within 72 hours of arrival. (3 days). You are trying to submit too early which is why you are receiving that error.

I knew one of the many members of this forum would know the answer. FYI, this 72 hour rule appears nowhere on the WIMCO FAQ , the Jet Blue email I received this morning, or the St Martin website. Many thanks!

So, to confuse things even further, I just received the email below from St. Barth Commuter...the most notable part of it being their statement that "To enter in St Barth, between St Maarten and St Barth round trip, there no more restriction and no tests for vaccinated and non vaccinated passengers."

Hello,

To enter in St Maarten :

  • you will have to complete the EHAS form : https://stmaartenehas.com/ (round trip)
  • the requirement are (for now) :
    0

To enter in St Barth, between St Maarten and St Barth round trip, there no more restriction and no tests for vaccinated and non vaccinated passengers.

With our very best regards
Sincères salutations

That must be an error. Just confirmed from airport manager that a COVID TEST IS REQUIRED for unvaccinated passengers.

Erik, I can assure you from this past Monday two days ago) that St. Barth Commuter is not requiring boosters. They, like St. Maarten and St. Barts, are using the World Health Organization's definition of fully vaccinated as quoted by several of the forum members above: that is, two doses of a two-shot regimen, regardless of booster status.

Our travels are about to begin. Driving to Miami to fly to San Juan. Overnighting then taking early Tradewind over tomorrow morning. Have passports and vaccination cards. No testing . Will keep you posted of our travels.

Lisa,

I can assure you that unvaccinated passengers need a negative covid test to enter SBH (since you quoted that part of the thread). This was confirmed this morning by the SBH airport manager. (he is the one broadcasting covid protocols to all airlines, charter operators, villa rental agencies and hotels, after receiving the information directly from the Préfecture).

As far as the WHO definition of "fully vaccinated" is concerned, it is up to everyone's interpretation to decide what's correct. I can only say that French citizens (and residents) are considered as "fully vaccinated" only when they have 3 doses (including the booster shot). But hey, what do I know? As a full time French resident.

Miami to San Juan smooth...No documents required. Had nice dinner at the Fairmont..thank you Cec1 for referral. At San Juan airport hotel for early flight over tomorrow.

Did Tradewind check in this morning.
she looked at our passport and vaccination cards…. she verified to see we were boosted…. arrival on SBH just checked passports
having champagne and omelets at L’Oubi now… we are most happy
