I’m under the impression Tropical is owned or at least run by 369 Degrés Hotels et Maisons. What’s the connection? Any idea?I understand Romi/Tropical is part of the group that has Bonito St Barth & Betula Aspen. If that appeals to you.
We would go there more if they had a decent wine list. There's literally nothing drinkable on their small list. But we like the local vibe and the food is good and satisfying. Bavette/Purée, pizzas, burgers, etcI’d love to hear more about Le Bouchon
Apart from the weak wine list (which may improve with new management by a French sommelier of the third "order"), the restaurant offers local color and charm (reminiscent of the old Andy's "Hideaway," for which the marketing schtick was "warm beer, mediocre food, and a view on the car park!"). The beer's refreshingly cold . . . the food is superior . . . and the view on the car park is somewhat like sitting at the patio of Le Select or at Bar de L'Oubli -- the life of St. Barths passes by, with every minute a changing, colorful, revealing scene. I don't go to Le Bouchon often because the list places that I like is so long . . . but I genuinely enjoy the place. A touchstone to "old St. Barths!"We would go there more if they had a decent wine list. There's literally nothing drinkable on their small list. But we like the local vibe and the food is good and satisfying. Bavette/Purée, pizzas, burgers, etc
Fact checking your quote . . . .Andy's "Hideaway," for which the marketing schtick was "warm beer, mediocre food, and a view on the car park!"
