I am sure Samsung will come out with one in a few weeks for 1.99

We visit friends last weekend to see their baby -- and to help with their new iMac.

Now I understand it's not all roses for a novice with a Mac either. Nor the experienced person -- never remove anything from Launchpad by dragging it into the trash can. (Why would one do that? because iMovie and iPhoto were there twice)

Anyway, they had a Samsung phone with plenty of photos. Connected to the iMac it shows as an external memory device and there's a proper DCIM folder for the photos. Unfortunately Image Transfer nor iPhoto do not find the photos. Manual import worked just fine.

What did the owner of the iMac ask -- "Is this because Apple doesn't want to be nice to Samsung?"

Lesson from the story: No matter who is guilty, the lawsuits are not doing any good for Apple's reputation.
